Learning English at the elementary school level does not have to be limited to classroom activities. It can also be supported by learning resources that are engaging and easily accessible for students to explore independently. Recognizing this need, Dayfina Rizcky Ananta Putri, a member of KKN Team II Universitas Diponegoro in Kadilangu Village, Kangkung District, Kendal Regency, introduced the English Digital Library as a digital learning resource for students at SD N Kadilangu.
The English Digital Library is a digital library that provides various English learning resources that can be accessed for free through a QR Code. The program was designed to offer a more flexible learning alternative while introducing students to the use of digital technology as part of their learning process. By simply scanning the QR Code displayed on the poster, students can access a variety of learning materials and choose topics based on their needs and interests.
The materials in the English Digital Library are designed with elementary school students in mind, using simple language and age-appropriate explanations. The resources are organized into several sections, including Grammar, Vocabulary, Speaking, Reading, and Fun English. The Grammar section introduces students to basic English grammar, while Vocabulary provides words based on themes related to their everyday lives. Meanwhile, the Speaking and Reading sections give students opportunities to practice their language skills through simple conversations and short reading materials.

In addition to learning materials, the English Digital Library also offers various activities designed to make learning English more enjoyable. Students can find activities such as flashcards, crosswords, word searches, matching games, as well as quizzes and worksheets. These activities encourage students not only to learn English through written materials but also to explore the language through more interactive forms of learning.
As part of the program’s implementation, Dayfina designed and printed an English Digital Library poster and placed it on the school bulletin board at SD N Kadilangu. The poster features a QR Code that serves as the main gateway to the digital library. Through the poster, students can learn about the program while gaining direct access to the learning resources provided.
The program also involved a direct introduction to the English Digital Library for students at SD N Kadilangu. Dayfina introduced the students to the process of scanning the QR Code and accessing the available materials. Through this introduction, students were not only provided with an additional learning resource but were also encouraged to make positive use of digital technology as part of their learning experience.
The use of a simple technology such as a QR Code serves as an effort to expand students’ access to English learning resources. This initiative is also in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education, which promotes inclusive and quality educational opportunities. Through the English Digital Library, access to learning materials is not limited to classroom hours, allowing students to continue learning independently according to their own pace and availability.
The program also represents Dayfina’s contribution as an English Literature student in applying her knowledge and language skills to community engagement. The materials were carefully selected and organized according to the learning needs of elementary school students, making the resources accessible without being overly complex.
The English Digital Library is expected to serve as an additional learning resource that students can continue to use even after the KKN program comes to an end.
Through this initiative, the English Digital Library is more than just a digital collection of learning materials. It represents a simple effort to create an English learning experience that is more accessible, interactive, and enjoyable for the students of SD N Kadilangu.
